Mmm.. Krispy… Kreme…

Posted by: Lexi @ 10:32 am

Cupcakes Galore, Baby! Ravi bought me this super book( and brought me back some Krispy Kemes..) while he was visiting his parents in Seattle. Isn’t it awesome.. I want to make cupcakes from scratch so bad! There are so many choices though, I don’t even know where to begin! I’m hoping someone is having a birthday or something soon that way I can have an excellent excuse for making copious amounts of cupcakes. :D (Well, do I really need an excuse anyway?)

I’m mostly settled into the new place now and I’ll be posting photos of it soonish. I bought A LOT of crap from IKEA… but I’m glad because now I am A) not homeless and B) have a bed. (errr.. Sofa Bed…) My room is so colorful! I still need a chair for my sewing table.. my sewing machine is gazing at me, forlorn, because I haven’t used him in a while. I’m still working on two commissions that I need to finish ASAP.

We’ll it is time for the shower, so I shall leave you with this:

New Beginnings

Omg! Yay! I was accepted into Plush You, and my pieces will be going into Schmancy for the show. I’m so very excited.. a little while back I was featured in the Plush You blog and totally forgot to post about it…! But anyway.. I’m allowed to make three pieces for the show and I have NO IDEA what I want to do. It has to be something fantastic.. so I guess I’ll need to think about it for a while.

I am so very depressed that I missed Maker Faire. I wanted to go so bad! :( Hopefully I can make it to the Austin one…

Anyway.. check out this cool post about using found papers and items for collaging. If you haven’t read Sew Green before I suggest you add it yo your blog list, because it is a great blog full of useful information on how to live and craft more environmentally friendly.

In other news, Me and Mishri are moving! It’s a long story, involving some unhappy parents of my boyfriend Ravi… but I think even though I am very disappointed to be moving out of his apartment, we’ll only be stronger for it (after all, they do say absence makes the heart grow fonder…) and since I have never lived “on my own” before (although i’ll have two roommates at the new place) I think it will be good for me. I’m excited. I got to pick the color that my room was painted and it is called “Orange Ice”! I LOVE it.

Pick me up love, everyday….

This past week has probably been one of the worst weeks of my life. I have felt so miserable, hurt, sad, depressed and unhappy as ever. I won’t go into details, but I really wish I had my dogs with me. Or friends here in Tucson. I’m semi-homeless right now and I am desperately looking for a place to live so if anyone has any leads in the Tucson area let me know!

But at least Mishri-poo is with me, making me smile. Isn’t he such a sweetheart? I finished this plush sometime last week or so and he is available in my etsy store. Isn’t he sweet? I tried a new way of doing the eyes this time and I really like how they turned out. He looks so sleepy!

Does anyone have the story that goes with this photo? I got it off of MAKE: blog, but I can’t remember when. It is from NASA, some new thing they are testing out and I just thought the photograph was amazing. I love to stare at it. So cool.

And just because I wanna, here is a photo of Ravi holding up his metalizing solution that he uses to make Microtubes. This is part of his graduate thesis, and I was really pleased with the way this photo turned out.

In other news: check out this awesome flickr group!
