Love when I approach the tears they fall like rain

Posted by: Lexi @ 11:30 am

Hello how are you doing today
I hope I find you feeling healthy
I’m so glad our paths crossed this time today
On our way into the night

We find love it’s hiding there
In the shadows in the darkness
Maybe you and I
Could bring it to the light
Love when I approach the tears
They fall like rain
You tell me baby your hearts into a thousand pieces

Now stop only old and wise with clouded eyes
You can’t see what I can, but I
Blindly throw my faith to the face
Of the next good thing that comes my way

So here we are all of us stand around
We’re leaning heavy on each other
Always wondering what is it that lies behind
The worried eyes of one another

I believe it’s love that’s hiding there
Inside you and inside me
Maybe the two of us could bring it to the light
Love when I approach the tears they fall like rain
You tell me baby your heart’s into a thousand pieces

Now stop only old and wise with clouded eyes
You can’t see what I can, but I
Blindly throw my faith to the face
Of the next pretty girl that comes my way

I say it’s love that’s inside here
Come on out and sell it, listen
Maybe you and I could bring it to the light
Love with my approach the tears they fall like rain
You tell me baby your heart’s into a thousand pieces -Dave Matthews Band

This is how I feel today.
I miss my dogs, and Ravi.. and my parents and my friends in Phoenix. It sucks feeling lonely. It is sort of like that feeling you get when someone is talking to you, but you zone off and stare blankly, your vision bluring.

Yoga was good last night, but I liked the other instructor better. I want to go again tonight, but I don’t know if they have any beginner classes. We were, I guess, meditating and the teacher was talking about our connection with the mat we are siting on and its connection with the floor and the floor’s connection with the earth below it, and again this connection during tree pose and feeling our roots sinking into the ground to balance us and hold us upright. That got me thinking about our own roots and how they are connected to the ground we walk on. I guess I feel like a saquaro… my roots are very long but very shallow and if the wind picks up it could blow me over.

I see clean hands in your future…

I love these fortune cookie soaps that Poppytalk just featured. So adorable. I want one, they would look good as bathroom soaps.

Speaking of soap… if you want the best soap ever you should order a bar or two from my friend here in Tucson. Her brand is called Saucha Soap and I just love it. It smells so good it makes your whole bathroom deliciously fragrant. I recommend the Lavender soap, even Ravi likes to use it. They are really affordable and the bars are HUGE.

I seriously hate when I find a new blog that I like and want to read and they have either their RSS feed turned completely off or only have partial feeds so you can’t read the entire blog from google reader. It is such a pain! I cannot keep up with any blogs that I can’t add to google reader. I should say though that in my reader I have (omg I just counted for the first time) 94 blogs that I read. Good Lord… and I would say they are 95% craft/art blogs. That is just… frightening. And honestly I am able to clear my reader out every single night and I usually comment on quite a few of said blogs as well. I really, really need a life outside of the internet.

Last night, instead of sewing I moped about the apartment feeling sad. I couldn’t sleep, I was up until 4:30am and got up for work at 7:30am.

Hopefully tonight will be better. I have Yoga at 7:00. I need my own yoga mat. Because the ones you “borrow” at the yoga place smell like feet. >.<

I made a new plushie last night. I’m not all that thrilled with it, though. Oh well. I can’t photograph it though because Ravi, who is off in Seattle for two weeks, took his camera (which I usually use to photograph my plushies) and I’m not sure where the usb cord is for my camera.

(above is a photo I took of Jellyfish while at Seaworld a year or two back, below anemones taken on the same trip)

In case you didn’t know, I love aquatic creatures. ( I guess I should say I love all creatures because I could go on to say I love birds, amphibians, dogs, reptiles… the list goes on and it would all be true. ) But anyway. Last night, for about.. oh 6 or 7 hours straight I watched Blue Planet. Which is so.damn.good. I thought it would be fun to do “creatures of the deep” plushies. :P I love that show so much. It took them 5 years it film it. I also have Planet Earth waiting for me to watch it tonight. :excited:

In other film-related news, I recently watched The Wild Parrots of Telegraph Hill. Which was awesome. And the ending was quite sweet too, despite some sadness. I highly recommend it, especially if you are anything like me and enjoy documentaries about people and their relationships with animals.

I’m lonely. I wish I had acclimated to Tucson better than I have. I hate not knowing anyone. I’m trying to find things for myself to do. Thursdays I am doing Yoga, though I might add another day of it once I get used to it a little more. Although that isn’t really a place to “meet people” and make friends. I’m hesitant about posting more caigslist ads because generally everyone I have met or spoken to through craigslist has been kind of a freak. :D

Also, I haven’t given up on my bird! I went and visited him at the Feed Store yesterday. If I want I can put half down deposit on him Saturday and then pay the rest within 30 days. I really need to come up with $137.50. That probably doesn’t seem like a lot to most people, but I don’t make a whole lot of money and I have a bunch of bills that my paychecks usually just barely cover. But jeez, he (actually I hope it is a she) is such a doll! Speaking of dolls, I had Mishri out yesterday for about 3 hours. He is such a silly bird. Finally he got tired and flew (dive bombed?) back to his cage.

Well, this post has become outrageously long so I think I need to end it here.

Amazon Wish List…

Posted by: Lexi @ 11:35 am

Yep, I got bored and made a new one. I figured, since my birthday is only 41 days away ( :D ) I needed a list. Although, I think I am about at that age where you stop getting parties thrown for you and people stop buying you presents. Except like, your parents. :P

I really like that little digi-cam. Ravi and I saw it yesterday at the Target. We were talking about how lugging our other cameras about with us (be is an SLR, digi-SLR, or my Twin Lens) can be a pain when all you want to do it take fun, whatever photos.

There are lots of times I wish I had a small, good quality digital camera with me, but I was just too lazy to carry my larger cam around. And of course, it doesn’t fit in my purse. This is probably quite blasphemous to say having graduated with a degree in Fine Art Photography, but well.. yeah. So, if my finances ever get themselves in order (bahahahahahaha… phew, good one.) I’d love to buy that one. Or maybe someone (:coughmyparentscough:) will buy it for me for my birthday.

And just so this isn’t only text:

It’s a Piranha… :D I took this photo a while back at the Phoenix Zoo actually.

I want to make a dress out of this (pictured above) so bad it hurts. I wish that Purlsoho wasn’t so expensive. I mean, I’m sure what they are charging is reasonable for the product offered, but even so. Or actually, I take that back. I just wish I wasn’t so poor.

In other news, if you live in the Tucson area there is a Sewing Machine Workshop today AND next week on Sunday, the 1st of July there is a Clothing Swap/ craft event. Come check it out if you live near-by. I’ll be there.

TGIF?

Posted by: Lexi @ 10:29 am

Working on Saturday’s really makes the whole TGIF thing superfluous, really. Boo Friday. Boo. Except that I am determined to do something tonight. Yes, Ravi, you read that right. We are going out tonight, Buddy! (I can hear him groaning.)

(above: “postcard” I made for my site because you can get like… a whole bunch of them and other crap for free through vista printing.)

Last night, we went and took a Yoga class! Omg. So this is technically my first time “doing yoga”. I mean, we did a little yoga in my ballet class, and also once or twice in High School, but this is my first “real” class. It was fun. I made Ravi go with me to the first one because I was too chicken to go alone (and because I was secretly trying to convince him to be my yoga buddy). Afterward I asked him what he thought and he said “Mmmeeh”. LOL. Okay. So then I tried the “But it is from your motherland” angle and even that didn’t get much of a response. Oh well. I need a yoga buddy in Tucson. Someone come be my friend.

Oh oh! So, Saturday, right after work, there is Sewing Machine Workshop I am going to. I don’t know how useful it will be for me, since I have pretty much figured out my machine already but I’m sure they’ll have some good pointers anyway. And hopefully I will meet other crafty folk.

Gah, isn’t this cool? From Smack of Jellyfish on Etsy. I want one. Or two. Or six. They would look cute in my room. Anyway.

I’m tired.

Posted by: Lexi @ 11:38 am

Just got back from Phoenix at 5:30am today and I had to be at work at 9:30. My neck hurts from sleeping in the car. But… on the Plus side Saturday was spent going to Mollys Bridal Shower and ALL DAY Sunday was spent at Sun Splash! Sun Splash is a local water park and they had two new slides which were really fun. I hadn’t been to a waterpark in like.. 6 or 7 years. It was about 108 or so during the hottest part of the day, but by the time we left I felt cold. :P

Above is a commission I recently finished. She wanted a fuzzy, two headed monster. :D I really liked the way he turned out. And he is so cuddly! He fits just perfectly in your arms!

How beautiful is this print by Bird Nerd? I love them all so much I can’t decide which I like the best! :faint:

Anyway. I really need to do photos of my room to post! And I really need to stop drinking this (decaf) coffee. I like coffee too much. And sweet stuff. And yeah.

Yup.
