Saying goodbye to the balls + Moving + other stuff

Posted by: Lexi @ 12:21 pm

My dear little ding-dong is getting fixed today. I’m sad and happy at the same time. Sad that it might change him, that he might be resentful, that he’ll never have any adorable puppies, but happy that it will (hopefully) help with his leg lifting issues, that it will keep him healthier, and that he won’t be part of the huge pet over population problem. I’m kind of annoyed to find out he’ll have to be wearing one of those cone things around his neck (annoying!) and that I’ll have to pay $10 for it.

In other news, Ravi and I packed up the majority of my crap and moved it out of my old place, but not quite into my new place. I can’t move in until the guy living there moves out (hopefully around the 3rd) so my stuff is sitting in a little trailor she has on the property. But I think this new place will be nice. It’s very close to 4th ave (which is like “downtown” here in Tucson), very close to the artsy areas, my yoga place, AND the bars!

My birthday is nearly here… Sunday the 5th I will be 23. I think this is going to finally be the birthday where I realize that I’m an “adult”. Meaning, I won’t be having a birthday party or anything, I won’t be unwrapping presents, and there will be no cake. A little depressing but I guess it has to happen some time, right?

Anyway, I have been so lazy with my crafting that I vow not to post again until I have MADE something.

for shame…

Well, I am officially the only freak on the planet who hasn’t read ANY of the Harry Potter books. I’ve been pretty much fine with this fact for some time. I always go see the movies on the opening day, and I always like them… I’m a rabid reader, though– but I just assumed they were kids books and that I didn’t want to read them. This is a relativity odd fact, though, considering how much of my life I’ve spent reading. Anyway, I finally caved in. Mostly due to Ravi’s freakish excitement over the final book. (Which I sadly read the ending of… ) Oh well. I ordered the first two off of Amazon today, for a grand total of $8.48. Not bad, I suppose.

I’m loving this flickr group. Pretty cute, huh?

In other news, tomorrow is Molly and Jared’s wedding. And also Dingo is coming home. :excited:… I went and bought a dress to wear to it from Forever21. It is cute and hopefully something I will wear again.

p.s. so unbelieveably sad that these are sold out. I want them. I must have them. One, they’d be adorable on a shelf above my sewing machine, two they’d be super cute in photographs, three i’m in lurve.

1. Cefn Sidan 4, 2. Nearly sunset…, 3. Cefn Sidan 1, 4. Like a desert, 5. St Ives Bay, 6. Cefn Sidan 2, 7. Golden Sunset, 8. Walking Away…., 9. Glass of Sand

I want to go to the beach so bad. Summer is almost over and I really want get my toes wet. (And can you imagine how cute Dingo would look splashin’ in the waves??)

In other news,

I haven’t been to yoga since last Thursday! For Shame! And then right afterwards we went and ate tacos at the super yummy dive taco place called BKs and it made me sick. I had a seriously painful stomach ache most of the night. Oi.

p.s. look what I got! Ravi went to Schmancy while he was in Seattle over the fourth of July and picked me up this sweeeeet Plush You tote. Now wouldn’t it be peeeeerfect to carry to the beach?

I love me some weiner…

So this blog is slowly turning from a craft blog into a dog blog. Whoops! But I am justsoexcited that Dingo FINALLY gets to come “home” (home is where the heart is, afterall… and even though I know he has been happy with my parents and their dogs, I know he loves me best. Which is kind of silly to say, but it is weird how he clings to me when I come home and follows me around. He only does this to me… ) after almost 6 months of being apart.

And so, some flickr love from the dachshund pool

:(

I adore this photograph. And it makes me miss my dogs even more. I can’t wait till I get to bring Dingo here, but I’m slowly realizing that I’m probably never going to see Tofu again. It makes me so sick to my stomach and breaks my heart. But at least I know he is being well taken care of and that my ex-husband loves him… But well, he was MY dog. I’m the one who wanted a dog to begin with, I’m the one who dragged us to the pound, I’m the one who picked him out. He was my baby. And now I feel like there is nothing I can do.

I had to move out of where I was living all of the sudden and I had no choice but to ask my ex-husband to come down get him. I never intended it to be forever, but that is how he sees it and now I have lost the best dog I have ever had forever.

I finished this little guy last night and he’s available in my etsy shop. I’ll probably do a couple more similar to him, hopefully if I have the time. I’ve been a mixture of busy and lazy lately, so…

In other news, Ravi and I went to Mexico Saturday night on a whim. We live about 1.5 hours from the border. We arrived and proceeded to visit the titty bar. And the we went to a liquer store and a pharmacy. All and all it was pretty amusing, except when we were stopped at the border for a “random” inspection. I had to pee sooooo bad and they wouldn’t let me.

More imporantly though is this little guy above. (Or should a say big?) He’s my current plushing inspiration. I’m working (or getting ready to) on a GIANT squid plush that is close-to true to life size. It’s going to awesome.

flickr goodness:

AND the best news of all! I’m moving at the end of this month into a new place which allows dogs… So guess who’s moving down to Tucson?!?!

In any case, I’m not sure my life is complete unless I own that octopus. Did I mention how much I adore sea creatures?
My birthday is in 23 days… I’m allowed to buy myself a present right?

Bisbeeeeeeee..e..e.eee…e…

Posted by: Lexi @ 11:53 am

So last Sunday I was itching for a roadtrip and talked Ravi into it. We were debating about either going to feed the Lori’s on the road to Phoenix or taking a little trip down to Bisbee, AZ. We opted for Bisbee and it was so much fun…!

I’d been talking to Mark of Bisbee Stitches (check out his interview on Plush You!) for a little while and we had been planning to come down and meet. It just so happened that Mark was working in the Co-Op that his art is shown in the day we went down.

One thing lead to another… and anyway, Mark invited us over for coffee and some show and tell. He has a show coming up in New York.. and he is also going to be at Etsy Labs for the release of the Plush You book, which he is in.

Mark has a super serious awesome ginormous trampoline in his backyard. I fell in love. As a result, here are some stupid photos of me.

We checked out some cool things in Bisbee (there is an adorable little mom and pop mini mart just down the road from him) and got some dessert. Mark invited us to stay for dinner, which he made (Lasagna!), and it was soooo delicious!

(How does Ravi always look so sexy in photos and I just look fat?)

Here is Mark!

And his adorable pooch Happy!

omg. wtf. Later that night Mark talked Ravi into wearing Hywel’s (that’s Marks husband) Holloween costume down to the local radio station for a radio show they were doing. I have no comments on the follow photos. They speak for themselves. BTW… Mark made that costume, pretty sweet huh? It is the little boy from Where the Wild Things Are. (uhm.. they turned my boyfriend into a furry!!)

Group shot from the Radio Station…

It was lots of fun, we hope to go back soon! Thanks for having us…

Oh, I almost forget. Hywel gave me this excellent drawing from an old German book he is altering. I’m in love with it! I’ll have to scan it tonight and post about it next time.
