Me&Dingo&Ravi have kinda been having a cuddly, snuggly, puddly lovefest lately. :D
In other news, I HAVE NOTHING MADE FOR PLUSH YOU! We’ll, I did make one thing, but I don’t like the way it came out so much, so it is only a last, last resort if I don’t get three other things made before the deadline. Which is steadily approaching. The things is, everytime I have free time to plush it always seems there is something else, some other errands, or whatever that need to be taken care of.
Tonight I have yoga. I have missed the past THREE classes, which is terrible of me. I don’t really want to go tonight because I could use the time to plush and take Dingo to the dog park, but I really, really have to go. Hopefully by posting this I am forcing myself to go to yoga. must. go. to. yoga.
Blah. I kind of feel like the world is caving in on my head.

Okay not really. Just adorable, cuddly, gangly ones. I made this squid a day or two ago and she sold yesterday when I had my showcase on etsy. In fact, I’m bidding farewell to four of my plushies this week… (two have already gone off… :sniff:) I intend to make more of the squids… I enjoyed making her, although she was more work that I thought which means I can’t price her as low as I would like. I struggle with this a lot because I want my stuff to be affordable, but at the same time I don’t want to be paying myself $4 an hour. I try to keep it around $8 an hour if I can. (Although still, that is very low pay.. :D )

Anyway, several more colors, sizes (possibly) and genders (:D) of the squids will be going up in the shop soonish. And of course some new monsters… I def. have some ideas in mind that I hope to translate to plush within the next week… some of which may go to Plush You… (holy shit I have a week left! :fear:!!!)

a room with a view

My new studio is looking great. I like it so much better than the last place I lived. Ravi and I spent a few hours last night getting everything into its right place, unpacking the few things I had packed and making it look nice. It isn’t done, exactly, but it is getting there. Dingo loves it over there, with a big yard to romp in and some canine friends to play with.
Things that still need to be done:
1. Set up my “studio”. There is a HUGE table that came with the studio that is perfect for crafting and working on projects. My sewing machine will go there, along with fabrics, paints, and all of my supplies. It is just the right height and has a little window above it which is nice.
2. Hang up art. I have some prints, photos, and other things (embroidery ring frames) that need to go up on the walls. So hopefully that will happen this week.
3. Just general re-organizing of little stuff to make sure everything is where it needs to go.
I love the area I live in. I’m within walking distance of all the coffee shops, art galleries, yoga studio, concert venues, bars and everything else one would want to be near. (Although I would still pick a rural area over the city, but if you are going to live in the city might as well be near the action.

I’m thinking I need one (or all) of these prints hanging on my walls. :D Maybe If I sell some plushies in my next showcase (on the 22nd!) I’ll get one.

I need to get my ass in gear…

I’ve got to get some plushies made and soon! Plush You isn’t all that far away, the deadline is steadily approaching. Eep.

In other SUPER exciting news, I bought my first Etsy show cases when they went on sale Wednesday. I was so uber excited that I was able to get two. I would have liked some days in September, but whatever. I need to sell AT LEAST one plushie to cover the cost of them. My first one is on August 17 (yikes, tomorrow!) and the other is on the 22nd. So look for my stuff in the showcase!

In other other news, I had a very happy 23rd Birthday on the 5th. ( Was that already 10 days ago??) and Ravi got me this lovely cake. It was quite delicious. My parents came down and we had a super breakfast at the Blue Willow Cafe (omg so good! We totally drank tons of mimosas, too!) My Mom bought me a cute dress, a skirt and some shirts. She also got me a gift card to get a manicure, so I am going down to Phoenix on Saturday and (so excited about this..) she is also getting me some new glasses! I am basically legally blind without my glasses and they BROKE a few weeks ago. Luckily Ravi was able to super glue them back together, but even so, that won’t last forever.

Anyway, my hours at work have just changed slightly, giving me some free day time hours during the week which means I will be crafting and painting and collaging and making STUFF like crazy. Because I want to and because I sort of need to. So hopefully I’ll be posting some stuff here soon! I’m working on some ideas for squid plushies right now.

And I do need to get some new Dingo pictures up ASAP!
